Overview:
The D-Link DMC-810SSC Media Converter, part of the DMC Series Media Converters and Chassis, is a high-performance network device designed to seamlessly bridge the gap between copper-based Ethernet networks and fiber-optic networks.
It converts 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 copper signals into 1000BASE-LX single-mode fiber signals using an SC-type connector (Subscriber Connector).
Operating at a 1310 nm wavelength, this device allows networks to safely extend data transmissions up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), which makes it an ideal, cost-effective solution for connecting campus buildings, remote surveillance setups, or isolated local area networks (LANs) without sacrificing bandwidth.
